Road Construction Projects

Few projects remain for the 2020 road construction season, see below the map for current construction updates. The city anticipates beginning the next road construction season in April 2021. Current Projects

Lone Peak Parkway (11400 S. to 12300S.)

Slurry Seal and re-striping of the northern half (from Election Rd to 11400 South) to add a second southbound lane is completed. Widening of the east side of Lone Peak Pkwy north of Election Rd remains on hold pending property acquisition but some utility work will proceed in that area through the Fall season.

Traverse Ridge Storm Drain Rehabilitation

This project is to make improvements to the storm drain infrastructure. Work began in August 2020. Work will take place along Traverse Ridge Road down hill of the Woods Landing Court Intersection. Work is expected to go through end of November. More info here.

13490 South and Vista Blvd.

A new traffic signal will be installed at 13490 S. and Vista Blvd. to help improve safety at the intersection. Installation of the traffic signal will take place the week of November 2, and activation will take place by end of November.

UDOT Projects

Draper City does not have control over UDOT (state transportation) projects. A summary of UDOT projects in Draper is provided below with links to UDOT's website for more information.

UDOT I-15 Northbound in Draper, Sandy and Midvale 

UDOT is adding a new general purpose lane from Bangerter Highway to 9400 S. and a collector-distributor system from 9400 South to I-215 to increase mobility and reduce congestion. Construction began summer 2019 and expected to be complete by late 2020. In Draper, road construction can be seen at State Street and Minuteman Drive. Visit UDOT to view latest updates.

Other Projects

South Valley Sewer District is currently working on a project in Hog Hollow that is anticipated to be completed by December 31, 2020. They are working along the existing sanitary sewer pipeline in Hog Hollow (on top of the mountain and going down the back side) and repairing some slumping earth along the sewer pipeline alignment. Next spring they will complete revegetation of the disturbed areas. This is not a city project.
